The Schnoor Quarter, one of my favorite spots in Bremen. How can I say Schnoor is marvelous? The gorgeous and cute things are in here, in the oldest district in Bremen (more about Bremen). Mini shops, mini restaurants, narrow alley and also the smallest hotel in world are in Schnoor. Can you imagine, the tall of the door of smallest house is only about 150 cm? And the wide of the alley is about 60 cm?

The Smallest Hotel in the World

The Hochzeit Hotel (Wedding Hotel) is the smallest hotel in the world. People usually book it for Honeymoon. 

The Door´Height of Hochzeit Hotel is about 1,5m and this small hotel is located inside narrow alley in Schnoor Quarter, Bremen.

The Narrow Alleys

Sometimes I had to wait other visitors until they pass by, because the wide of the alley is about 60 cm.

Inside this narrow alley, there are so many beautiful tiny buildings.

Tiny Shops and Cafes

Along the alleys in Schnoor Quarter we can take a break for coffee and cake. Lovely souvenirs of Bremen, such as Bremen Town Musician dolls, postcards, t-shirts, mini statues and other beautiful handcrafts can be found here. If you are lucky, you can see at the mini chocolate factory, how praline chocolates are made in front of you.

The Museum

The wonderful things are not only the minis, but also the fascinating architecture of old building. One of the famous houses in Schnoor is a house called “Schifferhaus” (Captain's House) at Stavendamm Street. This house was a private museum and although it was inhabited for centuries, there was no bathroom, no shower, no heating, no telephone line and thus no Internet access, until the end of 2006.

If you want to enjoy the other atmosphere of Schnoor, come to Schnoor when the sun goes down and the city lights bright the Schnoor up.  The glow from store windows, the attractive displays and the beautiful buildings make the night in Schnoor is so enchanting.
